Terms of service

Last updated: 23 October 2026

These terms apply when you use CyclingPappa, a service run by [Company name AS] ([org. no. 000 000 000]). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy, which explains how we handle your data.

1. What CyclingPappa is

CyclingPappa is a marketplace that connects bike owners, workshops and home mechanics. You can book repairs and services, rent, lease, buy or sell bikes, share tools, ask for advice and keep a health log for your bikes.

Many features are still being built. We may add, change or remove features as the service grows.

2. Our role

When you book a service, the agreement for the work is between you and the workshop or home mechanic. They are responsible for the quality of their work, their prices and their own terms. CyclingPappa provides the platform, handles bookings and payments, and helps if something goes wrong, but is not the provider of the repair itself unless we clearly say so.

Your rights as a consumer under Norwegian law, for example the Craftsman Services Act (håndverkertjenesteloven) and the Consumer Purchases Act (forbrukerkjøpsloven), apply in relation to the provider and are not limited by these terms.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must approve bookings and payments.
  • Give correct information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your login details secret. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • One account per person or business. Accounts cannot be transferred.

4. Bookings, prices and payment

  • Prices for consumers are shown including VAT (MVA). Any fee from CyclingPappa is shown before you confirm.
  • Payments are handled by our payment provider. You are charged when you book or when the job is done, as shown at booking.
  • Each provider's cancellation rules are shown before you book. If a provider cancels, you get your money back.
  • If the work is faulty, contact the provider first. If you cannot agree, contact us and we will try to help.

5. Packages

Home mechanics can sell packages: some of their services for one price, paid up front through CyclingPappa.

  • The price, what is included, how long it lasts and the home mechanic's own conditions are shown before you buy.
  • A one-time package can be used for the number of days shown, counted from the day you buy it.
  • A subscription renews every month or year until you cancel it. The included services start again each period; what you don't use in a period does not carry over.
  • If you cancel a subscription, it keeps running until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again.
  • A package that covers one bike can only be used for the bike you chose when buying it.
  • If you delete that bike, the package ends at once: you can no longer use it, and you do not get a refund. A subscription is cancelled, so you are not charged again. The app warns you before this happens.

6. Workshops and home mechanics

If you offer services on CyclingPappa, you must:

  • only offer work you are qualified to do, and do it with care,
  • describe your services and prices honestly,
  • follow the law, including consumer law, and report your own income and taxes,
  • have the insurance your work requires.

Support from a verified workshop for a home-mechanic job means that workshop reviews or helps with the job. It does not make CyclingPappa responsible for the work.

7. Buying, selling, renting and leasing

Listings must be accurate and must not include stolen bikes. We may check frame numbers against the bike registry. Rentals, leases and service insurance packages may have their own terms, which we show before you agree.

8. What you post

You own what you post, such as photos, reviews and messages. You give us permission to store and show it so we can run the service. Reviews must be honest and based on your own experience.

9. Acceptable use

Do not use CyclingPappa to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone's rights,
  • harass, threaten or mislead other users,
  • post spam, fake reviews or listings for stolen goods,
  • arrange payment outside the platform to avoid fees on a job found through CyclingPappa,
  • try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to the service.

10. The AI assistant and advice

Answers from the AI assistant, other users and online consultations are guidance only. They do not replace a hands-on inspection. Always have safety-critical parts, such as brakes, steering and wheels, checked by a qualified mechanic if you are unsure.

11. Strava and other services

If you connect another service such as Strava, its own terms also apply. You can disconnect it at any time in your profile.

12. Liability

We work to keep CyclingPappa available and correct, but we cannot promise it will always be free of errors or interruptions. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for the work or conduct of providers and other users.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer, or our liability for gross negligence, intent, or personal injury.

13. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you when that is reasonable. Bookings that are already paid will be handled fairly.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.

15. Law and disputes

These terms follow Norwegian law. If something goes wrong, contact us first and we will try to find a solution. Consumers can also get help from the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet). If a dispute goes to court, consumers can always use the court where they live.
